The new Hopi Hari Theme Park in São Paulo, Brazil, which opened November 27, 1999, is about to begin its second season. According to the May 2000 Amusement Today article, the park averaged 200,000 visitors per month the first season, and is designed to handle up to 24,000 guests per day.   During the off season, Hopi Hari was closed Monday through Wednesday.

Hopi Hari, which translates to "The Country of Happiness", is one of Brazil's first theme parks. Beautiful buildings, extensive landscaping, textured walkways, and themed areas are surrounded by a great selection of rides and shows.  The star attraction, as expected, is Montezum -  the magnificent wooden coaster of Roller Coaster Corporation of America.   South America's first "Woodie", Montezum has been a huge success ... attracting crowds willing to wait an average of two hours on weekdays and up to four hours on weekends to experience the ride.

"Montezum has the most prominent placement in the park.  It's right up front, overlooking the theme park on one side and Wet 'n Wild Brazil on the other, stated Mike Black, RCCA's President.  Wooden roller coaster rides have always been the most favorite among park guests.  Brazilians are making that axiom hold true. So much so, that  other Brazilian Woodies  are being discussed."
